superantispy and ccleaner as well as adaware s.e.
AVAST is good…but I do reccomend to try and stick with one or two programmes since they will be popping up in your task bar and using cpu power and memory….
I’m meant to use Norton free with my Internet package, but it’s a resource grabber, so I use Avast and Ad-bot search and destroy, that’s all I feel that I need as I’m on broadband which does offer a certain amount of security.
norton 360, free trial for first month, try it, its amazing, its worth every dollar also
AVG Anti-Virus Free Edition
Ad-Aware 2007
i use avira premium security suite, it has email checker, firewall, anti virus etc plus the use of spyware begone. ive had these programs for 3 years now and they use small resources and auto update. spyware begone auto loads with windows and checks memory, registry and disk. you can make it do a full scan as well.
Avira, once configured is very good and is highly rated.
it also checks files downloading in limewire/kazar etc.
sometimes too many programs will conflict with each other, and use lots of resources. keep it simple.
you have more stuff than you need. just purchase AVG 7.5 Internet Security Suite and remove the other garbage. I would keep spybot if you use Internet Explorer as your browser.
you definitely have enough software there.
In fact id say you have to many programs, and they’ll be affecting performance (at least you don’t have Norton). having all those programs would be find aslong as they only run when you use them for normal use all you need runing is an anti-virus (AVG is fine)
If you want some more programs i would only recommend Hijackthis! however you need to know about your computer, or know somebody that does for that to be much use.
alternatively try Linux( free usable and virus free), ubuntu comes with plenty of support and now Wubi means you dont need to do anything to windows and wubi will dual boot
Maybe Linux.
